Brett arrives at Cape Playhouse from Theatre Harrisburg (Harrisburg, PA) where he served as Executive & Artistic Director. He has directed more then 300 productions in his career and has served as Musical Director/Director for such venues as The New York Musical Theatre FestivalThomaston Opera House, The Hartford Children’s Theater, Theatre Harrisburg, Three Rivers Community College and Preston Community Chorus. In 2000, he was named Distinguished Arts Advocate by the Connecticut Commission on the Arts and received a Commendation for Achievement in the Arts from the State of Connecticut General Assembly. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music in Winchester, VA. He has done graduate work at Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT) and Golden Gate University (San Francisco, CA). He founded and ran The Spirit of Broadway Theater in Norwich, CT for 17 years, earning him international acclaim for excellence in the production and direction of new musicals. He is included in Who’s Who in America as well as Who’s Who in American Executives. Mr. Bernardini has served on the Board of Directors for The Norwich Rotary Club, and President of Rose City Renaissance. In addition, Mr. Bernardini served on the Board of Directors for The National Alliance For Musical Theater(NYC) and as a reader for several national new works programs. He is also the Founder/Producer of The Connecticut High School Musical Theater Awards. Prior to his work in theater, Mr. Bernardini spent 20 years as a professional high school educator focusing on Choral Music and Theater Arts. He has served on state certification panels, served as a program assessor and as a peer coach for first-year educators.
