Join theatre director/dramaturg and certified yoga instructor/studio owner Shawna Mefferd Kelty for a 90-minute yoga workshop/practice that is designed for the creative artist in mind. Yoga is the union of breath and movement, of the mind, body, & spirit. Stanislavski and other theatre practitioners believed that in order for us, as theatre artists, to be present in our craft, we must achieve a "creative state," which is what yoga provides: centering, grounding, relaxation, openness, and strength. Whether a performer, designer, dramaturg, director, stage manager, or technician, this workshop will prepare you to be grounded, centered, and connected to your creative spirit. All levels are welcome (open to students and faculty/staff/independent artists). Mats will be provided (10) or BYOM (bring your own mat).
