Movement in Stillness: An Introduction to The Suzuki Method

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The Suzuki Method (created by Tadashi Suzuki) is a rigorous physical training that increases the actor’s awareness, builds her or his physical and emotional strength, and eliminates physical habits. Through a series of exercises that disorient the center of gravity, disrupt the breath, and challenge the limits of physical strength, the actor is able to access a limitless source of energy and arrive at a state of readiness for performance. This movement-based workshop will introduce the basic vocabulary of Suzuki and explore the method through a series of physical and vocal exercises. Bring socks and come prepared to move.
