Playbill describes The Broadway Theatre Project (BTP) as "the world's most prestigious musical theatre arts education program for high school and college students." Founded 26 years ago by Ann Reinking and Debra McWaters, this intense 3-week summer institute is proud to add KCACTF Region 1 to its audition tour as it seeks to select 80 of the top students desiring a career in the performing arts.
BTP is very excited about many NEW additions to its programming this summer, including an original theatre production, extraordinary guest artists and a top-notch resident faculty. Always seeking to add to and enhance what has been offered in the past, BTP is preparing to make the 2018 Project its strongest and most rewarding session yet. Students who come to the Project do so for a variety of reasons - some wish to perform in front of the curtain, some wish to create magic backstage, some wish to gather knowledge about selecting the very best colleges in order to provide a longer period of study and perhaps a second major. Whatever your reasons, BTP promises to be an invigorating, inspiring summer of learning and theatre-making for all involved.
The audition for the 2018 session will consist of a dance audition (taught during the “Chicago: The Audition” Workshop) and a vocal audition. (Please note: there will be no live accompaniment.) Come prepared to sing 16-bars a capella or with your own tracks. There will be sound equipment available, should you need it. In addition to the above, please prepare a short monologue. Cold reading material will be available. We look forward to seeing many of you there! Visit our website, or call, for further information: www.BroadwayTheatreProject.com
