Sharon Sobel

Sharon Sobel has spent over 25 years in academia earning Full Professor and serving for 6 years as department chair at University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at WCSU. For her service to KCACTF (serving as DTM Chair of Region 5) she received the Kennedy Center Gold Medallion. 
She has designed costumes for over 100 productions at venues including Queens Theatre, York Theatre/Bank Street Films, Juilliard, Connecticut Repertory Theatre, Asolo, Nebraska Shakespeare, Madison Repertory Theatre, The Bermuda Festival, and Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Clown College. As a costume maker or assistant designer her work has been seen at the Metropolitan Opera, Playwrights Horizons, The Public Theatre, The Alley Theatre, and Williamstown Theatre Festival. 
Her books Draping Period Costumes: Classical Greek to Victorian and Theatrical Makeup: Basic Application Techniques are published by Routledge/Focal Press. MFA, Carnegie-Mellon University. Member USA-829 and IATSE-764.
