Dominic Antonio D’Andrea is the founder and producing artistic director of The One-Minute Play Festival (#1MPF), America’s largest and longest consistently running community-engaged theatre project. During his decade-long tenure at 1MPF, he has created, produced, and led over 135 dialogue projects and festivals in over 40 cities and communities, with 1,800 playwrights and community writers, creating nearly 12,000 brand new one-minute plays, with an estimated 20 thousands community participants and artists. 1MPF has worked in a range of partnerships, from theatre companies like Primary Stages, Cornerstone Theatre, ACT, Actor’s Express, Kitchen Dog, InterAct, NY City Center, Women’s Project, New Georges, and others, to community centers, schools, universities, prisons, and communities in crisis. Dominic is also a director with credits in NY, B’way and regional theatres. He holds a masters in Applied Theatre from CUNY, is an alumnus of The Lincoln Center, Chicago, and LA Directors Labs, has held 3 SDC Observerships, and has been recognized by state, city, and local governments for his community-engaged practice.
